Over and over I hear the words in my mind … help as many people as you can.  If you read this blog you know I have touched on this point several times and I guess it is a part of one of my main goals that I have going forward.

A couple of years ago I had a health analysis through the School of Metaphysics and it noted that it was important for me to meet and talk with five new people every day – I tended to shy away from that part of the health analysis although I did pay attention to the explanation of why that was necessary and I attempted to deal with the why as opposed to doing the practice.  LOL — I am reading this to myself as I type and laughing at myself for my blatant self-guided misdirection and now here I come back almost full circle.  Since that time when I had the health analysis I have met many people and enjoyed learning from them and I think I am very open to meeting more and more people now AND now I have this big push to help more and more people all the time.  And now I think I understand more than ever the importance, and this need within me, to help as many people as I can.  I realize now how helping people is uplifting to me, in so many ways,  I learn something about myself every time I meet someone, as long as I pay attention.  As I strive to look within myself and learn more and let more love flow, more freely I continue to feel the need to touch more and more people.  And I think at this point it has evolved a bit beyond my ego and I really feel like all I want to do is to see where I can help.

Use your fears as a catalyst to make change in your life.

Change is not a function of the passing of time, it is thought evolution.

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”  Wayne Dyer

I guess we can all pull out a number of quotes that tell us that change is good and necessary in our life.  Yet, we are creatures of habit and find change difficult.  Those of us who are striving for new things in our lives though must change – if we continue to just do the same things over and over then we are going to end up at the same place as we have every other time.  So I contend that I must learn how to make changes and accept them, I will learn to find some excitement and joy in change.  Starting with little steps it can actually be easy and fun.  Take a different class at your gym and continue in the class until you enjoy it and see some benefits, cook a new dish that you have never cooked or order something new off a menu, starting with some small things can help you branch out into larger changes by helping you see the benefits of something different.  Always believe you can change, one step at a time.  Find some little thing in each change that allows you to look forward to the unexpected, allowing you to see the opportunities that are available to you by creating new things in your life or even just new ways of doing things.  Give it a try!

“The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.”

It doesn’t have to be complicated.  It needs to be you through and through.

To start off with it can be simple or you can start off “full-out” and be as ambitious as your imagination allows.  The simplest way to begin anything is with a list.

Begin with trying to come up with TEN things that you want.  For some of us it often takes a day or two of thinking and slowly writing the list to actually come up with ten things that we want for ourselves — I am one of those people generally.

So here is my list:

1.  I want to own, free and clear, enough fertile land to grow all the food my family needs and wants throughout the year.

2.  I want a stable and growing income source that allows me freedom to spend my days as I choose.

3.  Practice yoga asana every day.

4.  Enjoy a day at the spa monthly with my friends.

5.  Achieve a seminary type education – helping me reveal the divinity in me and everyone else.

6.  Time for myself every day to reconnect with mySelf on many levels.

7.

uhm… ok so I will have to think about this some more and add a few more items to my list.

In this process I find it very useful to remind myself of these things that I want regularly.  I will write these on an index card or maybe two of them.  One I will have by my bed so that I can look at it before I sleep and when I wake and the other I think I will have at work posting it where I can see it all the time.    Maybe I will make a third index card and carry it in my purse too.  Regularly reminding myself of my goals gives me a direction to move toward and reminds me to look for ways to make these goals happen.  And I think that’s the key — “looking for ways to make these goals happen”  sometimes, we are consciously looking and at other times our subconscious is on the lookout for us.  You know it’s similar to when you start driving a new car — you see them everywhere.  We could call it Like attracts Like – the Law of Attraction – or call it our subconscious is pointing something out to us that we then consciously see.  So go with it, write down what you want, have fun with it and create your world the way you want it to be.

Please read with us and add your energy to the thought / creation of Peace as we ring in the New Year.

The Universal Peace Covenant

Peace is the breath of our spirit. It wells up from within the depths of our being to refresh, to heal, to inspire.

Peace is our birthright. Its eternal presence exists within us as a memory of where we have come from and as a vision of where we yearn to go.

Our world is in the midst of change. For millennia, we have contemplated, reasoned, and practiced the idea of peace. Yet the capacity to sustain peace eludes us. To transcend the limits of our own thinking we must acknowledge that peace is more than the cessation of conflict. For peace to move across the face of the earth we must realize, as the great philosophers and leaders before us, that all people desire peace. We hereby acknowledge this truth that is universal. Now humanity must desire those things that make for peace.

We affirm that peace is an idea whose time has come. We call upon humanity to stand united, responding to the need for peace. We call upon each individual to create and foster a personal vision for peace. We call upon each family to generate and nurture peace within the home. We call upon each nation to encourage and support peace among its citizens. We call upon each leader, be they in the private home, house of worship or place of labor, to be a living example of peace for only in this way can we expect peace to move across the face of the earth.

World Peace begins within ourselves. Arising from the spirit peace seeks expression through the mind, heart, and body of each individual. Government and laws cannot heal the heart. We must transcend whatever separates us.

Through giving love and respect, dignity and comfort, we come to know peace. We learn to love our neighbors as we love ourselves bringing peace into the world. We hereby commit ourselves to this noble endeavor.

Peace is first a state of mind. Peace affords the greatest opportunity for growth and learning which leads to personal happiness. Self-direction promotes inner peace and therefore leads to outer peace. We vow to heal ourselves through forgiveness, gratitude, and prayer. We commit to causing each and every day to be a fulfillment of our potential, both human and divine.

Peace is active, the motion of silence, of faith, of accord, of service. It is not made in documents but in the minds and hearts of men and women. Peace is built through communication. The open exchange of ideas is necessary for discovery, for well-being, for growth, for progress whether within one person or among many. We vow to speak with sagacity, listen with equanimity, both free of prejudice, thus we will come to know that peace is liberty in tranquility.

Peace is achieved by those who fulfill their part of a greater plan. Peace and security are attained by those societies where the individuals work closely to serve the common good of the whole. Peaceful coexistence between nations is the reflection of man’s inner tranquility magnified. Enlightened service to our fellowman brings peace to the one serving, and to the one receiving. We vow to live in peace by embracing truths that apply to us all.

Living peaceably begins by thinking peacefully. We stand on the threshold of peace-filled understanding. We come together, all of humanity, young and old of all cultures from all nations. We vow to stand together as citizens of the Earth knowing that every question has an answer, every issue a resolution. As we stand, united in common purpose, we hereby commit ourselves in thought and action so we might know the power of peace in our lifetimes.

Peace be with us all ways. May Peace Prevail On Earth.
